Meeting Information 4/21/09
Hey Spanish Club Members!!
Here is some information to keep you up to date. Our volunteer date is now May 9th, which is a Saturday, at Southwest Community Center. If you want to volunteer, there are a few spots left for either (or both) the morning and afternoon sessions. You must let me know by friday as I will be telling the Southwest Community Center the names of those volunteering on Friday in the morning. It is a great way to earn community service hours, and is just a plain nice thing to do.
Our dinner will be on Sunday, April 26th, at 7:30pm at San Sivar, which is the Salvadorian Restaurant suggested by Ashley Marroquin. The address is:
1940 Harbor Blvd
Costa Mesa, CA
(949) 650-2952
If you want to go, please show up on time. Suggested cost is about $20 for the night, or less if you plan on sharing with someone.
Hope to see you there!!!

Meeting Canceled 4/14/09
Hey Spanish Club Members!
Not much will be happening at the meeting tomorrow. I will not be there because I have a class review at lunch. I apologize. Here is some information so that you guys can keep up to date:
The volunteer date for the soup kitchen had to be moved. They are not even open on the date we chose. The next available date is May 9th, which is a Saturday. We would meet in the morning at the Southwest Community Center, distributing clothes and food, and then go across to the local post office to help with a food drive in the afternoon.
If you signed up for the 26th, and are still able to go on May 9th, YOU MUST LET ME KNOW BY EMAIL OR IN PERSON BY NEXT TUESDAY!! As soon as we have a head count for this date, I will let those who are going know all of the details.
Since the dinner was planned around the volunteering, and the volunteering date has changed, we can either continue with the dinner the same night (the 26th) or we can change it to correspond with the volunteering (tentatively May 9th). Just to remind you, the dinner would be at a Salvadorian restaurant, Sensiva, in Costa Mesa. We would most likely meet around 6:30 to eat, although this can mold to our volunteering schedule so as to require less driving. Please think about it, and be prepared to let me know at the next meeting.
Our next meeting will be next week, Tuesday April 21st, no fail. I apologize again for having to cancel tomorrow's at the last minute like this.
See you then!

Meeting Information 2/3/09
Hey Spanish Club Members!
We decided on a lot of things at today's meeting. I completely understand if you missed the meeting because you didn't know about it. It's been rather hectic these last couple of weeks, and it's hard to get back on track. We will be resuming meetings every Tuesday at lunch in room J7. See you there!
Our next Fiesta will be at lunch in room J7 on Tuesday, February 17th. We will have pollo, bebidas, flan, galletas, taquitos, and more. The cost is $4/plate, or just bring food for approximately 20-25 people.
We are going to have another dinner on February 13th, at El Misti, a fantastic Peruvian Restaurant. If you want to come, please email me at RobynMonroe@gmail.com before Thursday, February 12th to let me know how many people you want to reserve space for. The food is amazing here, and it is quite an ethnic treat.
We are starting to take volunteers for our Soup Kitchen volunteer day. In March, (Date to be announced), we will be carpooling to a soup kitchen in Los Angeles to volunteer and help those less fortunate than ourselves. If you are interested in volunteering and receiving community service hours for this, please let me know either through email (RobynMonroe@gmail.com) or at the next meeting. I will keep you updated with this.
Lastly, we decided that there is an interest in having an End-of-the-Year Field Trip to Olvera Street. This event depends solely on participation, so please let me know if you are interested in a field trip such as this, or if you have ideas for one.
See you at next week's meeting!
